Who we are
My name is Eli, and I’ve been working on jobsites for as long as I can remember alongside my father, who has run a successful design-build company in the Quad Cities for over 30 years. After serving in the Air Force, I started my own contracting business here in the Crystal Lake area. As a remodel contractor, I take pride in bringing my clients' visions to life by blending thoughtful design with seamless execution. With Kalus Development, you get a complete solution. We handle every detail, gathering all the best experts, making your dream remodel come true simply and easily.
Phase One
At Kalus Development, it all starts with a quick phone call. We want to hear about your project so we can make sure it will be a success and see how we can help. This first talk also helps us set clear expectations.

Phase Two
After that, we put together your complete project plan. We can team up with your interior designer, or we'll introduce you to one of our trusted local design partners in Crystal Lake. We finish the design, create the schedule, and set the clear investment for your project.
Phase Three
Then, the work begins! With the design, money plan, and schedule ready, Kalus Development runs your project smoothly. We look after all parts – from keeping your home tidy while we work, to making sure materials show up on time, and always keeping in touch. We handle every single detail, so you don't have to stress.
Transparency
Using our cost plus system of billing, you get to see everything “under the hood” with regards to cost. You see what we pay our subs, you see what the cost of materials are, everything.

I always like to say “you pay what I pay” Kalus Development doesn’t add random markup to all parts of the project. You pay what we pay, with an administrative fee and a contracting fee on top.
Complete Control
With the cost plus model you are in near complete control of your budget! Do you want tile at $150/square foot? Go ahead! Do you want to save on a toilet and get one that’s $200? No problem.
